While good for privacy, this sounds like an awful UX change for the average person. Some sort of nice toggle to disable it would be good, but removing it all together would probably annoy more people than it benefits.

You’re still using itunes and not apple music?
… they already have your emails. Not only that, but just about everything else they could possibly want to know about you.
Unless you plan on moving to a more private provider I wouldn’t worry about that.
Any time I want to watch my emails I just go to the web ui for it. I doubt any 3rd party client will ever come close to what google and Microsoft offer for their own email accounts.
They’re absolutely not crawling it every time they nee to access the data. That’s an incredible waste of processing power on their end as well.
In the case of code though that does change somewhat often. They’d still need to check if the code has been updated at the bare minimum.
Not necessarily. Tailscale uses their own servers in order to do the negotiation, but once the connections are opened on both ends you should be directly connected to each other. All without port forwarding or any config on your end.

When I’m traveling internationally I’m limited to 256kbps unless I buy a local sim. Sending an app without cell needed could be useful. Especially if it’s a big app like the DJI app.
Outside of that… nah. Maybe if you’re in rural Africa where cell service is spotty at best. But even there things have improved dramatically.
That’s cool. Performance per dollar isn’t the only factor for a laptop.
Size
Weight
Durability
Battery life
I/O and other features.
A not dogshit network card
An actually usuable trackpad
I’m sure I could list more. But those are all things that are important on a laptop and you can’t change after you buy it.

Software or hardware? Have you tried this?
E ink like mode. It’s not actually e ink it just makes the screen black and white. In the video they talk about how it’s just more of a low power/distraction free mode.
The worst laptop you can find could probably be better than even a reasonably specced VPS. Low end VPS are dire, and you can get some pretty decent laptops for almost nothing. If it’s pre 8th Gen. Intel they’re basically worthless on the used market. But they’ll still easily get the job done.
On my iPhone 15 pro using the windows 11 phone link will cause my phone to stop connecting to other devices.
Basically set up phone link so it can send notifications to the PC, and use it for a bit. After that shut down (or just walk away) from the PC and try to connect to a Bluetooth device (AirPods for example). Most of the time it won’t work. My AirPods for example will get stuck connecting. I haven’t found the exact rhyme or reason of when it does work. But usually when it’s broken turning Bluetooth off and back on again (in system settings) fixes it.
