That there is no perfect defense. There is no protection. Being alive means being exposed; it’s the nature of life to be hazardous—it’s the stuff of living.
You can post to Mastodon and tag Lemmy community and the Mastodon post will appear as a Lemmy post.
There are significant limitations to this approach such lack of graceful support for thumbnails, markdown (doesn’t work on the Mastodon side) and URLs. I.e. it’s only good fat basic text posts (or image only posts).
This is a much needed update. While I like the functionality of F-Droid, the UI is unappealing.
I’ve been using mid-tier phones for the past ~10 years (including Samsung A series in the last 5) and I’ve never experienced a mid-tier smartphone working this bad on release.
I am surprised the performance was this bad at release. It almost sounds there could something else going on.
I am not arguing for or against a given form factor, I personally like big screens, but I would only be happy for there to be offerings and more competition.
I am just saying that it’s not completely unreasonable to speculate that in the future almost all smartphone will use the foldable format.
I would argue there is also a national component to this. Huawei, a leading Chines tech company (heavily sanctioned by the US), was first to bring a trifold to the market.
I think in 5-10 years foldables will have a strong market presence.
Remember “phablets”; almost all smartphones eventually turned into phablets.
I was really hoping that OneUI 7 wouldn’t be too distracting. I use a custom launcher so that limits the damage, but change for the sake of change is always annoying.
Isn’t lemmynsfw automatically blocked on LW? I don’t see any posts from lemmynsfw.

Cns you configure the output no have a podcast discussion and have a more dry, technical lecture format?
Not a fan of MKBHD, but I could totally see Pixels coming out on top.
I actually do use USB cable transfer, I didn’t realize mainline Galaxy phones have USB 3.0 (I use the A series).
You learn something new every day. :)
Are there any phones that don’t use USB 2.0? It seems to be a universal cost management choice.
Upvote, comment, post! Compliment good OC content (especially if it is posted regularly).
Bring more regular users if you can.
There are still many non-tankie, normal tech communities on ML though.
I am seeing a slow tendency to move off ML.
Why are you posting on ML in the first place?
It’s a tankie cesspool with instance-wide rules for white-washing genocide.
There a few normal communities, but more and more of the normal ones are moving off of ML.
Some users online have also recommended a virtual machine (VM) running an older version of Android to play 32-bit games. But this solution hasn’t worked for me, likely due to the intrinsic hardware limitations here.
I wonder if this refers to running the VM on a PC or on a smartphone. Are modern smartphones SoCs performant enough to run a 32 bit Android VM for some older games?
Don’t worry, they are just into you. It’s your one in quadrillion personality and your big heart!
F-Droid has the potential to make a much a bigger impact on a relative basis. Most people with still use default app stores, but I think F-Droid still has a long way even among semi-technical audiences.
